I set up a blackout shade in the nursery with an inside mount. I measured the tight width, deducted the recommended fraction, and centered the brackets. The snap in took a firm push at an angle. With the shade down the room is dim enough for naps even at noon. The little pull handle tucks behind the front fold when it is halfway up, so you reach under to grab it. After five weeks there is no tilt, folds land evenly, and bedtime is calmer.
I measured three times, took the smallest width, deducted the suggested amount, and marked my brackets. A small level helped keep the headrail straight. The snap in took a firm push at an angle, not straight up. With the shade down the room is dim enough for naps even at noon. Five week update shows no tilt and the folds still land evenly. This was easier than I expected.
This shade does a good job of blacking out the light. It's not the nicest looking shade I've ever seen, but it's not bad. I wish it went up a little further.
I like that the curtains fold into nice clean neat folds when you roll them up. The action is quite simple, just pull down to bring down the curtains and then pull them all the way down and the whole curtain will snap all the way back up. My curtain was installed all the way up to the ceiling at the maximum height and it still blocks the window light. Installation is fairly easy.
